Role Overview
As a Principal for Advisory and Assurance within the Integrity Screening and Research Unit at EBRD, you will lead and manage a team responsible for customer and transactional screening activities. You will oversee the screening of parties involved in the bank's engagements, ensuring adherence to sanctions, PEPs, and adverse media screening protocols. The role involves direct interaction with Banking origination and Portfolio teams throughout various stages of the pre- and post-signing lifecycle, as well as other stakeholders particularly Compliance. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the bank's Integrity Due Diligence Guidelines, supporting its risk appetite, and managing change.
Key Responsibilities
- Play a leading role in a transformation project, introducing new screening technology and processes in to the Bank
- Oversee operational performance, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators.
- Manage risks and maintain control frameworks to ensure compliance with established standards and guidelines.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across all lines of defense to facilitate sustainable operations.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of excellence and integrity.
- Act as a subject matter expert in KYC/AML regulations, standards, and practices.
- Influence and collaborate with 2nd and 3rd line of defense teams to ensure adherence to standards and risk appetite.
- Establish and run assurance functions, including the monitoring of adherence to standards and guidelines.
- Write operational procedures related to KYC/AML policies and guidelines, and test adherence to these standards.
- Utilize industry-recognized screening tools associated with KYC/AML processes and controls.
Requirements
- University degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Proven experience in change management, preferably in a global financial organisation .
- Deep understanding of KYC/AML regulations, standards, and practices.
- Extensive experience in dealing with 2nd and 3rd line of defense teams to influence standards and controls.
- Familiarity with establishing and running assurance functions.
- Experience in writing operational procedures related to KYC/AML policies and guidelines.
- Proficiency in industry-recognized screening tools associated with KYC/AML processes and controls.
- Strong customer service orientation and people management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive results in a dynamic environment.
