POSITION TITLE: Post-Graduate Intern, Clean Energy GROUP: Environment and Energy LOCATION: Remote, within the United States REPORTS TO: Senior Program Officer, Clean Energy STATUS: Full-time, 6 months beginning first quarter 2023 POSITION SUMMARY: Are you passionate about clean energy, a great writer with critical thinking skills, and looking to get started working in international development? If so, we want you on our team! We are seeking an intern with a masters degree who can work for at least 6 months. We work on off-grid solar applications for rural smallholders, including solar water pumps and solar chillers; and access to energy in developing countries, including solar home/business/school systems. We also have an emerging practice on solid waste management and plastic pollution reduction. We need an intern to help us with everything from proposal research and writing to implementing our current projects. The Clean Energy internship offers experience going through a complete proposal cycle from capture to submittal, including budgeting and technical design; experience managing field projects from the US, including research to support project strategy and communications with local business and NGO partners; and the opportunity to learn from thought leaders on energy and environment issues facing the developing world. Our focus countries include Ethiopia, Nepal, Indonesia, Nigeria, Rwanda, and Vietnam. This is internship is up to 40 hours weekly and can shift to less than 40 hours to support students currently pursuing a masters degree. Candidates working remotely are expected to align work hours with Eastern time zone. What weโre looking for: Candidates should have completed or be pursuing a Masters or PhD degree in a field relevant to international development. Candidates who are in the middle of a graduate degree program can continue part-time once school starts. Candidates must have demonstrated interest in renewable energy and developing countries, such as work/volunteer experience or coursework/research.
