The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic students who are looking to gain professional experience in partnership development and management processes. The internship will be based at IWMI\u2019s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Scope of internship

During the internship period, the selected candidate will report to the Head of the IWMI Program Management Office (PMO) and will provide support to the PMO and the Business Development Unit (BDU) in facilitating partnership development and management processes which includes partnership agreements, coordinating the drafting of donor-specific agreement templates, facilitating partnership agreement workflows, tracking the status of agreements under development, and developing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and donor contract revisions. The intern will also benefit from hands-on experience across the project lifecycle and gain exposure by having the opportunity to work in a multicultural and multidisciplinary international research for development (R4D) organization.

The intern will assist in the following areas:

Assist in facilitating due diligence processes for partners. Assist in a partnerships mapping process to identify the types of partners IWMI is currently working with. Assist in facilitating the partner agreement process, reviewing and processing partnership agreements and subsequent amendments. Assist in processing MoUs. Assist in identifying and solving any issues related to the Agreement Manager system in coordination with the ICT Team and the external consultant. Assist in ensuring that partnership agreements and MoUs are filed in their relevant project repositories folders and are linked to Smartsheet files. Assist in processing amendments in donor contracts and finalizing various donor requests. Assist in managing IWMI's time-tracking system in coordination with the assigned program officer for staff time management. Assist with any day-to-day requests/assistance that come from Portfolio Managers. Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Head of PMO.

Requirements

Recent graduates or postgraduates specializing in the fields of Science, Commerce, Social Sciences, Development Economics or any other related discipline. Qualification in Law would be an added advantage. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word). Ability to work in a multicultural environment with strong teamwork skills.

Benefits

IWMI will provide a monthly stipend to the selected candidate during the internship period.

The duration of the initial internship contract will be for 6 months with the possibility of extension for another 6 months based on performance, requirements of IWMI and the availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited internship and only Sri Lankans are eligible to apply.
