5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

Post of duty: Washington D. C.

The IDB Group is a community of diverse, versatile, and passionate people who come together on a journey to improve lives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Our people find purpose and do what they love in an inclusive, collaborative, agile, and rewarding environment.

About this position:

The Sanctions Officer (โ€œSOโ€) is the first tier (first instance) of the IDB Groupโ€™s anti-corruption adjudicative system, which addresses allegations of corrupt, fraudulent, coercive, collusive, or obstructive practices and misappropriation (โ€œProhibited Practicesโ€) in activities financed by the IDB Group.

The Office of Institutional Integrity (โ€œOIIโ€) investigates allegations of Prohibited Practices and submits Statements of Charges and Evidence (โ€œSOEโ€) to the SO. In turn, the SO is responsible for adjudicating the cases submitted by OII. The SO examines the SOE and allows the investigative parties to present arguments and evidence to counter OIIโ€™s allegations. The SO then determines if the evidence supports the allegation and, if so, imposes sanctions on the investigated parties per the Sanctions Procedures.

We are looking for a bilingual consultant to provide legal advice to the IDB Group Sanctions Officer concerning the cases he adjudicates.
