How can you make a difference?

The Nutrition Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming and implementation process for the nutrition programmes/projects in Gaza, supporting UNICEFโ€™s partners and the overall UNCIEFโ€™s country nutrition program.
In doing so, the incumbent implements a variety of technical and administrative programme tasks to facilitate programme development, implementation, programme progress monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of results from Gaza.

As an advocate for children, you will have the following duties/tasks:

Support and collaboration to the nutrition specific and sensitive Situation Analysis and its periodic updates from Gaza Field monitoring and supportive supervision of nutrition programs, especially wasting management, ECD, and MIYCN, implemented by UNICEFโ€™s partners in Gaza, ensuring quality service delivery, stock taking and verification of nutrition supplies and utilization. Support the partners in Gaza in tracking implementation progress, monitoring, and documentation of progress, preparing them for timely, quality, and evidence-based reporting Liaise and coordinate with Nutrition Chief, contributing towards program updates, contextual analysis, surveys and assessments Support for capacity development activities involving the planning and organizing of training workshops and the preparation and dissemination of information, SBCC materials and on-line capacity building tools

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will haveโ€ฆ

A university degree in one of the following fields is required:ย  nutrition, public health, nutritional epidemiology, global/international health and nutrition, health/nutrition research, policy and/or management, health sciences, nutritional epidemiology, or another health-related science field.

A minimum of two years of professional experience in a developing country in one or more of the following areas is required: nutrition, public health, nutrition planning and management, or maternal, infant and child health/nutrition care. Experience in health/nutrition programme/project development in a UN system agency, local and international organization is an asset Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
