JOB SUMMARY Winrock International works with people around the world to increase economic opportunity, sustain natural resources, and protect the environment. Winrock is seeking one or more Technical Consultants to lead the data collection process of establishing carbon inventories for black pepper suppliers and advise on emissions mitigation strategy and implementation in the Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Ba Ria Vung Tau provinces in Viet Nam. The Technical Consultant(s) will develop and apply expertise and advanced technical knowledge in one or more of the following areas: greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories, carbon management, energy emissions, and/or transportation emissions to support technical feasibility studies and assessments. 2. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES The technical consultant(s) are responsible for the following tasks: Serve as a liaison with organizations in the black pepper supply chain in provinces of Vietnam (e.g., farmers, suppliers and processers of black pepper), facilitating communications, providing translations, and representing Winrock International. Coordinate and collaborate with black pepper suppliers and farms to understand their business operations, set expectations of the process, and ensure smooth communications between the suppliers and Winrock International throughout the project. Collect supplier-specific and activity-based data required to quantify the suppliersโ€™ GHG emissions in adherence to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. Advise on emissions mitigation strategies related to electricity, industry, and transport to help the black pepper suppliers reduce their emissions and achieve decarbonization goals. 3. QUALIFICATIONS Understanding of organizational GHG accounting standards and methods. Experience with GHG calculation methodologies and emission factors. Knowledge of black pepper and/or coffee cultivation practices and carbon management related to their production. Knowledge of Viet Namโ€™s energy and/or transportation sectors. Knowledge of agronomy and fertilizer application. Excellent management, communication, and organizational skills are required. Excellent stakeholder engagement skills are required. Fluency in English and Vietnamese are required. Knowledge of decarbonization potential in black pepper production preferred. Experience with conducting training in carbon management, emissions mitigation, or target-setting preferred.
