Description of the Assignment: 01 National Specialist for Chemicals and Waste
Period of assignment/services: Nov 2024 – Jun 2025
The National Specialist for Chemicals and Waste is expected to provide high-level technical expertise and support to the Project Preparation Grant (PPG) phase for the development of a UNDP-GEF project aimed at improving the management of chemicals and waste in Viet Nam. This includes ensuring the successful integration of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) management strategies in line with international conventions, particularly the Stockholm Convention, into the project design. The Specialist will play a critical role in the preparation of the UNDP-GEF Project Document and the GEF CEO Endorsement Form, ensuring that all technical, environmental, and social safeguards are adequately addressed. Additionally, the Specialist will facilitate effective collaboration among national and international stakeholders, contributing to the overall success and sustainability of the project.
Proposal should be submitted directly in the portal no later than indicated deadline.

UNDP shall effect payments to the consultant by bank transfer upon acceptance by UNDP of the deliverables specified the TOR. If two currencies exist, UNDP exchange rate will be applied at the day UNDP instructs the bank to effect the payment.
