Work LocationAddis Ababa Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the guidance of the Director of Climate Change , Food Security & Natural Resource Management Division (CFND) and the direct supervision of the Chief of Section, Natural Resources, Green and Blue Economy, the consultant will: • Organize ECA-wide and inter-agency task force meetings, and Steering Committee meetings. • Prepare agendas, concept notes, background documents, briefing materials, and reports. • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, pre-events, and side-events. • Liaise with participants, stakeholders, UN Resident Coordinators, AU organs, and partners. • Track action points, follow up on decisions, and maintain comprehensive records. • Draft minutes, summaries, official correspondence, and reports. • Provide periodic progress reports on programme/project implementation, fund utilization, and resource mobilization inputs. • Conduct research, analyse information, prepare written outputs, and provide substantive technical support to meetings, conferences, interdivisional activities, and ECA-led projects. • Provide post-event support, including clearing pending tasks, following up on action points, and preparatory work for the 2026 HLPF. • Perform other duties as required. Qualifications/special skillsAdvanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in business administration, management, public administration, economics, political science, social sciences or related field or other relevant area is required. A first-level university degree in business administration, management, public administration, economics, political science, social sciences or related field of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, or related area, is required. Expertise in producing written outputs, including background papers, reports, and publications, along with coordinating outreach activities, conducting training workshops, and providing technical support for meetings and interdivisional projects, is also desirable. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working language of the United Nations. For the consultancy advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of the other language is desirable.
