Position Overview

FP2030 is a global partnership of governments, civil society, multilateral organizations, donors, private sector partners, and researchers committed to supporting peopleโ€™s right to voluntary, quality contraception. Our vision is a future where everyone, everywhere has the freedom and ability to lead healthy lives, make their own informed decisions about using contraception and having children, and participate as equals in society and its development.

The FP2030 Support Network consists of five regional hubs: North, West and Central Africa; East and Southern Africa; Asia and the Pacific; and Latin America and the Caribbean, and North America and Europe, led by an Executive Director, supported by an Executive Directorate team, who reports to the Governing Board. Each Regional Hub is headed by a Managing Director supported by a small team and hosted by an NGO within the region. Together, these five business units comprise the FP2030 Support Network.

FP2030 centers strategic global partnerships as a core element of shaping the global family planning policy agenda and expanding the narrative to increase support for contraception. Family planning has been proven to be a tool for realizing gender equality, women, and girls' empowerment, and facilitating choice, voice, and agency for women and girls worldwide. Therefore, FP2030 is working with a range of partners to advocate and advance the global family planning agenda and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

FP2030 seeks to create and sustain effective partnerships for global advocacy and streamline strategic partnership management and articulate a strategic direction for building the partnerships needed to realize the new vision framework. Under the supervision of the Director, Advocacy and Partnerships, the Manager, Global Partnerships is responsible for providing strategic guidance to FP2030 to build an inclusive movement through a diverse stakeholder base across sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), gender, development, and related sectors.

They will have an expert understanding of FP/SRHR space and deep experience in building relationships within the health and development sectors. The Manager, Global Partnerships will also lead the mobilization of commitments from donors and non-governmental partners, coordinate their engagement through the Donor Engagement Group and other platforms, and build overall momentum around the FP2030 partnership.

This position is based in Washington, DC or US remote.

Essential Functions

Technical Leadership and Knowledge Management

Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of the global partnershipsโ€™ portfolio, including outlining a strategy for long-term relationship building aligned with the FP2030 vision framework, FP2030 global advocacy strategy, and with a specific focus on integrating family planning/SRH with other health and development sectors working across the humanitarian and development continuumServe as a thought partner to the Director, Advocacy and Partnerships (AP) on proactively positioning FP2030 in relevant global SRHR/development dialogues by mapping external relations and engagements with global partners, their purpose, and โ€˜relationship managers for the partnershipsโ€™ within FP2030Identify entry points for partnerships and coordination on partnerships across the support network in FP2030โ€™s new structure and develop tools for partnerships management both mid-term and long-term adapting from existing resources in the global health sectorLead efforts to broaden the FP2030 partner base to include additional actors from reproductive justice, climate justice, and other sectors, including coordination of partners with specific MOUs with FP2030Support coordination of the Donor Engagement GroupLead mobilization of donor and NGA commitments and implement a self-reporting process on commitments and accountability for non-governmental stakeholders and donor governmentsIn collaboration with the AP team, comms team, regional hubs, and the partnerships consultant, support the design and coordination of the FP Presidential Task ForceCoordinate partner engagement in promoting FP in the UHC Agenda through a more focused advocacy approachSupport the design of a Family Planning, SRHR, and Gender Equality GARAGE in partnership with the Business Development team and FP2030 regional hubsConceptualize and lead the external relations efforts on alignment and coordination between global commitment processes on SRHR, FP and Gender equality

Engagement with Partners and External Relations

Strengthen alliances with diverse partners and stakeholders in alignment with FP2030 vision frameworkManage partnerships and coordination with GFF, GEF, UHC2030, PMNCH, ICFP, RHSC, AVAC, EPF, WHO, UNFPA and other global partnerships as they related to advancing the global SRHR and gender advocacy agenda and promotion of family planningSeek opportunities to advance family planning agenda in global development, humanitarian, HIV, climate change and gender agendas, particularly with diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice lens.Seek opportunities to increase FP2030โ€™s engagement with the UN as well as European advocacy movements/partnersRepresent FP2030 at external events, meetings and on coalitions, as assigned or as agreed to in consultation with the Director, Advocacy and Partnerships, including hosting events at CSW, UNGA, HLPF etc.Collaborate with regional hubs to strengthen engagement with regional bodies to advance family planning agenda at the regional levels

Strategic Planning and Programmatic Oversight

Oversee proper documentation, tracking, and monitoring of the AP/Partnerships work plan.Report on relevant activities to FP2030 funders and senior leadership on an ongoing basis.Collaborate with regional hub staff and other staff as needed to advance strategic partnerships and global advocacy work across the partnershipMaintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement process (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly. (As applicable to the role)Draft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNFโ€™s finance/contracts team as needed. (As applicable to the role)Attend training sessions provided by UNFโ€™s contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNFโ€™s current policies and procedures. Selection Criteria
