Chemonics seeks a Malaria Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Associate in support of the Global Health Supply Chain – Procurement Supply Management (GHSC-PSM) project based in Arlington, VA. The GHSC-PSM project is part of the U.S. government’s flagship global public health supply chain program, working to ensure an uninterrupted supply of public health commodities that saves lives worldwide.

The QA/QC Associate plays a critical role in providing support to ensure life saving malaria treatment and prevention commodities comply with quality, safety, and efficacy requirements and are suitable for their intended use. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with global quality regulations as well as labs from around the world including India, Netherlands, US, Philippines, and South Africa. We are looking for someone who has strong coordination and project management skills to assist with quality assurance investigations and incident monitoring, assist with our Corrective Action/Preventative Action (CAPA) plans, maintain our standard operating procedures and work instructions integral to Malaria QA/QC processes; and maintain quality assurance and control records in our Management Information System. Responsibilities include:

  • Support updating and maintaining standard operating procedures and work instructions for Malaria QA/QC processes
  • Assist in maintaining QA/QC records in the GHSC-PSM Management Information System
  • Manage incidents in internal management system and assist with QA investigations
  • Monitor and trend incidents and assist in identifying potential risks and implementing corrective action, preventative action (CAPA) plan
  • Assist with out of specification (OOS) investigations/CAPAs including conducting and documenting the investigation/CAPA and providing technical input to help define a final recommendation
  • Assist with record keeping and proactively identify process improvement opportunities for data maintenance
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required


  • At least one (1) year of experience working in Quality Assurance or Quality Control; preference will be given to candidates with QA experience related to malaria pharmaceutical products, long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs), or malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs)

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area, preferably chemistry, biology, physical science or similar discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to use MS Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook) required; knowledge of Sharepoint preferred

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Demonstrate the ability to proactively problem solve independently and collaboratively as part of a team

  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility and integrity

  • Fluency in English required
