Standard Job DescriptionLearning Development Associate Organizational Setting and Work Relationships This job contributes to talent development approaches and activities. The role is to assist in the development of relevant corporate learning and development strategies and the design and delivery of customized solutions for colleagues in functional areas, managers and leaders in order to improve performance and contribute to career pathways. In doing so this will contribute towards building a positive UNHCR learning culture. In addition, the incumbent will also support the design and deliver of learning and development activities related to Bureaux and operational priorities. Under the direct supervision of the supervisor who will provide overall direction and guidance in connection with the work, the incumbent will provide full scale administrative support to learning activities in area of responsibility. This includes but not limited to preparations of cost estimations, stakeholder management with trainers, venues and field offices, learner management with participants and Learning Management System administration. The incumbent supports the management of a portfolio of relevant activities in the Unit and may supervise staff members whose performance the incumbent will monitor and whom the incumbent will guide and support in their day-to-day functions. The job requires the incumbent to contribute the unitยฟs work both internally with the Divisions and Bureaux and in coordination with regional and field offices and external partners concerning capacity building and awareness raising activities to ensure appropriate cross-linkages of all UNHCR learning and development programmes with functional and management/leadership component. All UNHCR staff members are accountable to perform their duties as reflected in their job description. They do so within their delegated authorities, in line with the regulatory framework of UNHCR which includes the UN Charter, UN Staff Regulations and Rules, UNHCR Policies and Administrative Instructions as well as relevant accountability frameworks. Duties - Support the training needs assessment, design and delivery of learning offerings including distance learning, coaching, eLearning, workshop and other approaches using various tools and platforms. - Support organization and facilitation of workshops, training courses and promotional activities for both UNHCR staff and partners (including implementation of all logistical arrangements relating to promotional and training activities). - Support the effective coordination of training activities and liaise on all levels, jointly with key stakeholders on any platform. - Contribute to the development of written materials, guides and job aides to be used for learning/staff development purposes. - May manage the delivery of smaller learning activities. - Assist the development of written materials, guides, job aides, manuals, etc. to be used for training/learning/staff development purposes. - Ensure learning materials are uploaded into the Learning Management system if required. - Contribute input on systems and procedure development. - Select information and records in specified formats for use by others in preparing reports, correspondence, technical papers, project or programme plans and general reference documents. - Monitor the expenditure and processes the day-to-day transactions under the approved budget. - Enter data into ERP, liaises with other UNHCR sections to facilitate payments and prepares periodic unit expenditure reports and any other ad-hoc reporting needed; compiles statistics as required or directed. - Make travel and hotel reservations, prepares travel authorization forms and assembles and dispatches information and training material. - Establish and maintain the Unitยฟs electronic and hardcopy filing system, including databases. - Prepare consultancy contracts and/or internship documents, reports as required. - May supervise and/or train interns. - Perform other related duties as required. Most importantly, the candidate should be a team player, have strong organizational skills, and be a good communicator. Remuneration:
In case of appointment, a competitive compensation and benefits package is offered.
G6 - Salary range: NET 587,586 HUF - NET 688,996 HUF.

Annual leave: UNHCR staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will accrue annual leave at the rate of 2.5 working days for each full calendar months of service (i.e. 30 working days per year).

Pension system: Staff members holding a fixed-term appointment will become participants in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF).

Health insurance plan: locally recruited staff members in Budapest will be enrolled in the Medical Insurance Plan (MIP). The coverage is also optionally available for eligible family members.

Operational context

Nature of Position:

The position sits within the Division of Human Resources (DHR) โ€“ Global Learning and Development Center (GLDC), Learning and Integrated Talent Experience (LITE) Section, People and Wellbeing Learning and Development Unit. The Unit is tasked with professionalizing UNHCRโ€™s HR workforce of over 800 colleagues worldwide through a variety of different learning and talent support initiatives. Aligned with DHRโ€™s Strategic Priorities and Pillars of Transformation and GLDCโ€™s Strategic Intent 2023-2024, the Unit is focused on People Management and Human Resources, building human resource capacity to be more human-centric, modern and equipped to foster inclusive work environments of staff to promote the protection of people forced to flee. In particular, the Unitโ€™s 2023 Roadmap includes activities such as building HR capacity among senior leadership; designing a set of HR learning resources; planning learning experiences according to identified capacity gaps; fostering a dynamic network and knowledge exchange between HR practitioners in the organization, and nurturing career development and professional growth through opportunities such as Action Learning, mentoring or access to external learning and networking opportunities.
