We are seeking a Korean PR & Communications Associate for a 7-months-contract position (Maternity leave replacement) to work within the Government & Public Relations department at the International Vaccine Institute in Seoul, Korea. (Duty station : Seoul, Korea)
Job Description
This job is responsible for supporting and conducting Korean government and public relations, and donor/external relations activities within Korea. S/he will also help plan and implement advocacy and fundraising-related activities and events and manage general finances and administration of the Unit to help ensure its operations are conducted efficiently and in compliance with IVI policy.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support for government relations
Assist the Team in information gathering and compiling, application and post-submission processes of ROK grant proposals, and reporting. Assist the Team in communications with Korean government agencies and public-sector organizations, and with conducting related activities and events. Interpret, translate documents, and help conduct events and activities.
2. Support and conduct media and public relations activities within Korea
Plan and conduct creative PR and advocacy activities (interviews/meetings). Draft/translate press releases, PR copy, and develop stories about IVI. Draft Korean language comms tools and manage content (website, blog, social media, and multimedia). Monitor media reports and gather daily news clippings.
3. Support fundraising, external & donor relations, and marketing within Korea
Assist the Team in conducting communications and in the cooperation with donors and partners, jointly with the Korea Support Committee (KSC) for IVI, and IVIโs other units (e.g. donor visit programs). Assist and collaborate with IVI units and KSC in engaging donors and stakeholders and conducting events and develop donor recognition plans, and products. Conduct research, seek opportunities, and help develop and implement fundraising/marketing plans
4. Support administration of the Government and PR Unit
Help develop and manage the annual budget for government relations & PR and process transactions. Provide support in the administration and operation of the unit.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
1. Education Requirements
Bachelorโs degree or equivalent (PR and communications, journalism, marketing or business, public health, education, or administration) MA is preferred2. Related Field Work Experience
2+ years in PR & communications, and/or media relations in Korea(non-profit marketing or fundraising a significant plus; experience in social media marketing a significant plus)
