MAIN DUTIES/TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Within the framework of UNESCO’s work in education sector-wide policy and planning, under the overall authority of the Director of the Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, the guidance of the Chief of Section, and the direct supervision of the Programme Specialists, the Consultant will be engaged in the following activities:

As part of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) portfolio:

  • Provide technical backstopping for implementation of a GPE funded project on e-governance in education in Ukraine.

    Long Description

    • Contribute to the revitalization of a community of practice on EMIS and data systems in education.
    • Contribute to the development of a competency framework on EMIS.
    • Prepare terms of reference to conduct an audit of the StatEduc EMIS solution and its implementation in Africa.

      Long Description

      As part of the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) portfolio:

      • Analyze new submissions, mobilize country contributions, and update the online Compendium with at least 15 new country cases.
      • Support the pilot testing of the ECCE-PATT in one country
      • Analyze the integration of ECCE into Education Sector Plans in six Latin American countries using the grill and methodology already defined.

        OUTPYTS/DELIVERABLES

        Deliverables and technical reports are to be submitted to ED/PLS/EDP, including progress of technical support, results, challenges, and lessons learnt.

        The detailed timetable and deliverables based on the scope of work outlined above will be as follows:
