Background of the project
In June 2023, WorldFish has partnered with the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Cairo to initiate Center for Renewable Energy in Aquaculture (CeREA) project. A 4-year groundbreaking initiative to refine, test, and scale innovative renewable energy solutions that enable 5,000 fish producers, processors, and other fish value chain actors in Egypt to increase their productivity and incomes, leading to improved food and nutrition security, reduced food waste and loss, and more energy-efficient and climate-smart food value chains. Consultancy objectives:
WorldFish seeks to hire a MEL consultant in phase 2 to support the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities under the CeREA Project. This role includes tracking innovation use, outlining innovation profiles, and preparing beneficiary profiles. The consultant will systematically and objectively assess how well project results are being achieved throughout the project, identify achievements, and introduce corrective measures as required.
The specific objectives of the study are as follows:
Review the project monitoring, evaluation, and learning tools and products in collaboration with the MEL Team. Provide support to the project staff in documenting the project activities and data in the MEL system in accordance with the project and WorldFish requirements to ensure consistent reporting of deliverables, outputs, and outcomes. Check data quality and provide recommendations for its improvement. This includes overseeing data management activities in the implementation of surveys. Keep track of MEL activities and progress against objectives, work plans, and KPIs whilst communicating and following up with the team on a regular basis. Support annual planning and reporting processes for the project.
Scope of work:
The consultant is expected to become familiar with project outcomes and outputs through a desk review of project key documents (e.g., logical framework, factsheet, etc.). He/She will work in coordination with project consultants and WorldFish staff.
The consultant will be responsible for the following:
Report on project achievements against framework indicators. Review of the annual progress report outline, Develop outlines and content for beneficiary profiles, detailing individual or group contributions to the project. Data collection, cleaning, analysis, and archiving in alignment with WorldFish Data management policies. Collect and maintain accurate records of beneficiary activities. Prepare Innovation Profiles, summarizing the renewable energy technologies adopted, their application in aquaculture, and initial results. Identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for project improvement based on collected data.Requirements
Location and Duration:
This consultancy durations in phase 2 for a maximum of 24 working days. The work shall be carried out between February 2025 and June 2025. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for virtual interviews by the mid of February. The selection of consultant will be based on the relevant qualification and experience, and the most competitive proposal.
