IT Project Manager Consultant
Background of this search:
We are looking for an experienced professional to work on the ITE/IPP Policy and Planning Division as a Project Manager to implement the Enterprise Architectureโs Projects and initiatives.
The teamโs mission:
The Information Technology Department (ITE) is responsible for formulating the Bank's IT Strategy, its implementation and providing related tools, solutions, and services. The ITE/IPP Policy and Planning Division is the focal point for IT policies, architecture, and governance for the IDB.
What youโll do:
You will report to the Enterprise Architecture Team Leader in the Information Technology Policy & Planning Division. Following are the most important activities you will be doing to move forward the IT Project and Portfolio Management program towards its goals:
- You will be responsible for acting as the project manager to implement Enterprise Architecture Projects following the Bank project management methodology and processes.
- You will be responsible for participating in the definition, discussion, and implementation of the different technical tools and processes related to improving the Bank's Project Methodology.
- You will have to be capable of discussing tool implementation options with the technical teams internally in ITE.
- You will be responsible for producing the project documentation such as Project Plan, Status Report, WBS, Financial Plan, among others. You will also be responsible for reporting the Bank's PMO and comply with its policies.
- You will be responsible for providing feedback and maintaining a repository of project artifacts, such as project proposals, project charters, project plans, work breakdown structures, communications plans, and risk management plans.
- You will support, as a Project Manager, additional miscellaneous projects of the Enterprise Architecture Team.
What youโll need:
- Citizenship: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office[1]
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB Group.
- Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Information Technology, Business, or Project Management. Master's Degree preferable. Certifications in Project Management: a PMP certification desired.
- Experience:
- At least a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in IT projects, project management or portfolio management.
- Project or Program Management experience required, with at least three years in project or program management. Agile Methodology is highly desired.
- Understanding of various project management methodologies (processes, standard methodologies, tools, and templates).
- Experience in building and managing client relationships.
- Exposure to Agile, ITIL, SDLC principles preferred.
- Experience in projects with modern technologies and processes like DevOps, and/or Agile IT delivery.
- Languages: Fluency in English and of another official Bank language (Spanish, Portuguese and/or French) is required.
Core and Technical Competencies:
- Ability to communicating effectively, both written and verbally, within a professional services business environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge and proven experience in managing IT-related projects is required.
- Strong teamwork, analytical, problem-solving skills are required.
Opportunity Summary:
- Type of contract: National Consultant (Local Remote Modality)
- Length of contract: 24 months
- Location: Services shall be provided remotely from a country where the IDB has a Country Office[2].

- Requirements: You must be a citizen of one of the IDBโs 48 member countries and have no family members currently working at the IDB Group.
- Local Remote Modality: please note that the candidate selected for this opportunity will be hired to provide services remotely in their country of citizenship or permanent residency and where the Bank has its offices, for the entirety of the contract. The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bankโs office and will not be provided a physical space in the premises of the Bankโs Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bankโs office. Access to the Bankโs systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
