Internship โ€“ Strategic Partnerships Division

Multilateral and Programme Country Partnerships

WFP Washington Office, USA

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies, and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. We are currently seeking to fill an intern position with the Multilateral and Programme Country Partnerships based in Washington, USA.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DIVISION

In April 2018, WFP established the Strategic Partnerships Division to foster partnerships with development actors and strategically position WFP to achieve zero hunger. For this purpose, the Division works to enhance WFPโ€™s strategic engagements with host governments; International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and other relevant development partners; and the African Union (AU) and related continental institutions.

Known collectively as the Bretton Woods Institutions, the World Bank is often the main development partner providing knowledge and financing to national Governments, while the IMF provides a lending facility and technical advice. The Strategic Partnerships Division provides targeted technical support to Country Offices to engage at field level with the World Bank/IMF around operational opportunity, to support national Governments achieving their development ambitions โ€“while also engaging at global level in Washington DC to set the strategic direction and facilitate relationship building. We are currently seeking to fill an internship position under the WFP Strategic Partnerships Division. The position will be in person, and the Internship will be for a period of at least 2 months, with starting date as soon as possible.
