Working closely with the Government of Jordan, civil society, the private sector and communities, UNICEF Jordan Country Office aims to sustain results achieved for children to date, and strive to further improve policies, national institutions and programmes, for the well-being of every child in Jordan, in line with Jordan's Vision 2025 and the National Human Resources Development Strategy (2016-2025)ย towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Our programmes focus on improving the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the Kingdom, irrespective of their nationality, gender, religion or background. How can you make a difference?ย
Under the supervision of UNICEF Jordan Country Representative, theย Communication and Advocacy intern will beย responsible for supporting our advocacy and external communications for childrenโs rights.ย Specific tasks are highlighted below:
Collect and help produce testimonials, stories, photos, videos, digital multimedia content for external communication with multiple stakeholders including media and donors. Write stories showcasing impact of UNICEF programmes on the lives of children, youth and their families and prepare compelling, web-friendly articles ahead of key moments in the calendar. Support missions, visits, events with photography, video, social media coverage as requested. Work with the Design and Brand Officer to integrate brand building into the work of the office and to design donor-friendly communication packages to share with the private and public sectors on key flagship programmes. Support the research and development of knowledge management products and case studies demonstrating impact to support external communication and enable resource mobilization. Assist with the organization of key public events by working closely with the Communication team and external partners.To qualify as an advocate for every child you will haveโฆย
Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or Ph.D. degree programme - or have graduated within the past two years - in communications, international relations, marketing, digital media, journalism, or other field related to the position.ย Have strong writing, editing and research skills. Have a good understanding of communications, project management and branding. Fluency in English is required.
