The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.ย Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
CSIS seeks an intern to support the new Renewing American Innovation project. Renewing American Innovation (RAI) explores the policies and partnerships that will secure the United Statesโ role as a leading innovator while ensuring that all Americans have a shared stake in the innovation economy.
Producing insightful analysis and convening stakeholders from across the innovation ecosystem, RAI seeks to foster a public appreciation for the networks and institutions to which we owe much of our prosperity today.
The program is looking to hire someone available to start in January 2023. The intern is expected to work five days a week, Monday through Friday, for a total of 35 hours. The position will be predominantly in-person with some flexibility for remote working. The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience: ($17.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.00/hour for hires with a Bachelorโs degree, and $19.00/hour for hires with a Masterโs degree).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be a college senior, recent graduate (within past year), or current graduate student. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) from an accredited U.S. institution or equivalent from a non-U.S. institution. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Pursuing a BA or MA (or recent grad within last year) in political science, public policy, international affairs, a STEM field, and/or comparable experience. Familiarity with U.S. foreign policy and Washington D.C. foreign policy establishment, with additional interest in science and technology policy preferred. Strong communications skills, both written and oral. Experience in use of social media for outreach. Demonstrated ability to organize and plan. Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and to manage in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated commitment to diversity.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:
