JOB SUMMARY:   The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.  Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 275 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.   This position reports to the Website Director. They provide support and assistance for the CSIS Web site and other media technology functions of CSIS, works with other web and external relations staff to organize and feature content, maintain the look and feel of the site.     The salary band for this role is $55,000 to $58,000, commensurate with experience.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following: • Assist with the maintenance of content on the CSIS website using the website Content Management System (CMS), HTML, editing and other tools; • Liaison with CSIS programs, projects, and departments to ensure content is updated in timely manner; • Monitor new and existing online content to ensure it is consistent with CSIS branding and style; • Develop strategies to feature content that draws attention to key or new pieces of CSIS content; • Optimize and edit graphics using Photoshop or other image editing tools and provide help to staff on appropriate graphic formats for the web; • Assist with training and support of CSIS content managers to ensure they can add, edit, or change their web content through CMS and related editorial processes; • Maintain access rights (permissions) for CSIS content; • Monitor copyright, link, and privacy policies which are kept on the CSIS website; • Track website traffic and other key analytics; • Monitor website for issues such as broken links, orphan pages, stale content, improperly cited or used images;   KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:   • B.A. degree and a minimum of one-year related experience with similar responsibilities.  Other training, education, or experience can substitute for the education; • Attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities; • Thorough understanding of web technologies and conventions; • Must possess strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; • Strong writing and editing skills preferred; • Technical skills preferred:  o CMS management using Drupal o HTML o Photoshop o Adobe Acrobat Pro   PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:   The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee working in an office environment.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.   Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or protected veteran status.   Equal Opportunity Employer.   HOW TO APPLY:   Interested applicants should submit a résumé and cover letter at https://careers.csis.org/.
