Position Overview
The Partnerships & Engagement Intern will support United Nations Foundation partnerships and engagements, communications projects, and events. This includes meeting preparation, communications and outreach, relationship management support, research, and tracking. The intern will be integral in assisting with the Foundationโs preparations for the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly in September 2024, including the Summit of the Future. as well as partnership management and project coordination of the Global Goals Week coalition.
The Partnerships & Engagement Intern will work with various teams across the Foundation, UN departments and agencies, external partners, and the creative community. The intern will be a member of the New York Public Affairs team, reporting to the Advisor, Partnerships & Special Initiatives.
This is a paid opportunity and offers a rate of $17.50/hour for individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from (within 8 months of graduation) an associate degree or bachelorโs degree program; and $20/hour for individuals currently enrolled in a graduate program.
This position is based out of the New York Office.
Essential Functions
Selection Criteria Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.Background in communications, public relations, events, and non-profit work will be an advantage.Knowledge of or interest in international development will be an advantage.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Excellent project coordination skills, organization skills, and strong attention to detail.Strong interpersonal skills.Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter.Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and handle stress.Experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Drive, etc.) essential.Familiarity with WordPress and/or Mailchimp will be an advantage.Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.Must have a personal laptop computer and access to the internet.Must be available to work a maximum of 19 hours per week during Eastern work hours.Must be authorized to work in the United States.
