The International Tax Compact (ITC) is a neutral platform that aims to enhance domestic revenue mobilisation (DRM) in partner countries and to promote fair, efficient, and transparent tax systems. The ITC promotes networking, peer learning, and capacity development bringing together a large number of stakeholders working in the field of tax and development (e.g., policymakers, representatives from academia, civil society organisations, etc). The ITC Secretariat, which is part of the GIZ Sector Programme Good Financial Governance (SP GFG), manages the day-to-day activities of the ITC. Currently, the ITC hosts the secretariats of two international initiatives in the area of DRM โ€“ the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) and the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO).

Implementing and further developing the ATI, most notably by facilitating the cooperation and exchange within the ATI Steering Committee and ATI Consultative Groups; Supporting the organisation, implementation, and follow-up of (virtual) international events (e.g., ATI General Assembly, ATI regional workshops on tax expenditures, ATI side-events in international conferences and workshops, back-to-back events, webinars, etc.); Assisting in the conceptual preparation of studies and peer-learning activities as well as conducting research and drafting briefs, factsheets, internet articles, etc; Managing and collecting data for external communication and monitoring purposes, notably in the context of the ATI; Evaluating current debates and worldwide developments in the field of good financial governance and public finance with a special focus on tax and development; Supporting the external communication of the initiative by drafting website articles and other communication materials; Supporting knowledge management, network management, and the exchange of information within the team and towards external stakeholders; Supporting the ITC Secretariat and the SP GFG in its day-to-day administrative work.

Ihr Profil

University degree (equivalent to a bachelorโ€™s degree or higher) in economics, political science, public administration, law, regional studies, or other relevant disciplines; Basic knowledge and vast interest in the fields of policymaking and governance, tax policy and administration, and international development cooperation; Work in an organised, structured, independent, detail-oriented, and results-driven way, while you are able to work under time pressure and willing to quickly familiarise yourself with complex issues; Fluency in English is required, while good knowledge in French and/or German is a distinct advantage; Very good knowledge of the common MS Office programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point) as well as strong drafting and communication skills; Experience in external communication and/or network management is a distinctive advantage; Experience in the administration and maintenance of websites is a distinctive advantage.

We pay a monthly stipend of โ‚ฌ2.134,52 (gross).
