Job description

The Global Energy Transformation Programme (GET.pro) is a multi-donor platform bundling European forces to scale-up joint action on international energy and climate goals. GET.pro is supported by the European Union, Germany, Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands, and Austria and has the specific objective to contribute to improving the conditions for investment in the global energy transformation. To this end, it deploys the scalable and flexible instruments GET.invest, GET.transform and the Secretariat of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (further details see https://www.global-energy-transformation.eu).

The platform is active on a global level with a focus on Sub-Sahara Africa and has staff in partners countries as well as Brussels, Eschborn and Bonn.
The Programme Support Unit (PSU) located in Bonn acts as a central service provider to the operational teams, facilitating e. g., overarching programme and finance management, M&E and reporting as well as donor communication and knowledge management.
The intern will be based within the PSU and support the portfolio management team in matters of programme management support, impact monitoring and communication.

Your tasks

You will carry out the following tasks during the internship:

Support research and analysis related to GET.pro relevant topics, such as geopolitical trends, environmental and social safeguards as well as gender Support the preparation and organisation of the GET.pro Advisory Board Meeting and thematic event (and other internal workshops) Support the further development of the results-oriented monitoring and evaluation (M&E) system, data collection and processing, as well as the reporting to multiple donors Draft and provide inputs to diverse communication materials in English and German (e. g., programme and country window factsheets, presentations, illustrations) Assist with knowledge management tasks (e. g. structuring information effectively) to support collaboration within the large, global team

Your profile

Currently enrolled in or recently concluded master’s degree programme in social or political sciences, development or international studies, or similar programme with relevance to the position First practical experience in project, event or knowledge management; experience with results-oriented monitoring or working with social science methods is an asset An understanding of the role of energy in sustainable development and energy contexts in Africa; basic technical understanding of the renewable energy sector, risks and trends is an asset Analytical thinking skills and comfortable with research and knowledge management to prepare and summarise (quantitative as well as qualitative) information in an understandable and clear manner for different audiences Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing;
• Ability to work independently but in cooperation and coordination with a large team Profound skills in MS office required (in particular but not limited to Excel and PowerPoint) Fluency in English required; fluency in German (B2 and above) is a plus
