Terms of ReferenceThe UNHCR team for Belgium and Luxembourg wishes to recruit an intern for a period of six months (with an interruption in August). The selected candidate will be based in Luxembourg.

In order to be considered eligible for an internship, the following criteria must be fulfilled:

Be a recent graduate or current student in a graduate/undergraduate school program, preferable in political sciences, law and / or international relations, from a university or higher education facility accredited by UNESCO; and

Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.

Be fluent in French and have an excellent command of written and spoken English. Knowledge of German and/or Luxembourgish will be an asset.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze Luxembourg asylum law and practice

-Assist in Individual Cases

- Research country of origin information and a variety of refugee and statelessness issues

- Draft a wide range of documents including reports and correspondence, and responding to information requests

- Write, edit and translate texts (in English, French and German/Luxembourgish, according to native language)
- Assist with public information activities and the organization of events

-Attend meetings, in particular with NGOs

- Provide administrative assistance and clerical support as may be required.
