Purpose of Job
The Intern for Impact is part of the Impact department and plays a role in implementing the Bankโs mandate to promote transition in the EBRDโs countries of operations (COOs). The Intern, Impact is responsible for supporting ongoing work streams to strengthen transition impact and related results management at the EBRD, including contributing to:
- analytical and process work related to the Bank's transition impact results architecture and project review cycle
- providing ad hoc support and conduct other tasks as requested by Head of Sector for Impact, ICA and associated team
- supporting the design and roll-out of the relevant IT system related to Impact
The Impact & Partnerships department is established within the Vice Presidency for Policy & Partnerships. The Impact unit consists of a team of 25-30 Economists and Analysts delivering four key functions within the Bank:
- the design and implementation of the Bank's transition results architecture;
- definition, identification and communication of the Bank's results more broadly, encompassing both the Bank's transition impact, as well as its contribution towards the Sustainable Development Goals and the global development agenda;
- establishing and implementing a self-evaluation function that supports the Bank's teams in rigorously evaluating their activities; and implementing a knowledge management system.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Support the operationalisation of the EBRDโs Transition Impact and results architecture through contributing to:
- Supporting the ICA Head of Sector and associated team in managing the project review cycle โ including OpsCom, SBIC, Grant Review and TIMS as needed.
- Provides support to Head of Sector and associated team on sector on relevant analytical reports towards better communication on Impact
- Assisting in the preparation of data or analytical briefs.
- Ad hoc assignments, including background research on specific sectors, corporates, companies, drafting of briefings, presentations, and short sector analyses
- Compilation and maintenance of relevant datasets.
- Supporting the design and roll-out of an improved IT system related to Impact
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Degree or student in economics, business administration or related field
- Strong analytical and synthesizing skills with the ability to interpret transition impact/economic related information
- Strong quantitative skills, a strong knowledge of analytical software and managing data and datasets is an advantage;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to plan and work with limited supervision.
- Experience in impact assessment, results-based project and in managing project information management systems would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of one or more languages of the region is an advantage.
