Position Overview
โโUnited to Beat Malaria, a global grassroots campaign of the UN Foundation, brings together a diverse set of partners, influencers and supporters across the U.S. and around the world to take urgent action to end malaria. For more than 15 years, United to Beat Malaria (previously known as Nothing But Nets) has helped protect more than 39 million of the worldโs most vulnerable people by providing bed nets and other life-saving tools, in addition to successfully advocating for increased U.S. leadership and funding for global malaria programs.
Despite tremendous progress made, a child dies nearly every minute from this entirely preventable and treatable disease. We know that a challenge of this magnitude requires individual and collective global action. Thatโs why United to Beat Malaria is rising to the challenge to equip and mobilize engaged global citizens and partners to raise awareness, funds and voices to advocate for a malaria
-free world.
By coordinating closely with UN agencies, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the private sector and civil society, we channel and mobilize lifesaving resources to communities on the frontlines of the fight against malaria, prioritizing the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. We know that we need a holistic strategy to end malaria once and for all: Thatโs why we advocate for a full spectrum of innovative tools and strategies, increased political will and resources. Essential Functions
โโSupport Senior Officer and Campaign Associate with the expansion of our grassroots networks by recruiting new champions in strategically located Congressional districts.
โProvide support to individual champions who reach out to the campaign.
โAssist Senior Officer in facilitating the completion of advocacy requirements by champions and partnership organizations
โDraft copy (social media posts, blogs, etc.) about the campaign and current advocacy initiatives.
โSupport the grassroots organizing team in achieving quarterly advocacy goals.
โSupport the grassroots organizing team in building systems for improved program development and implementation.
โSupport the grassroots organizing team in executing quarterly activation.
โConceptualize and execute a outreach education event on campus
โMaintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement process (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly. (As applicable to the role)
โDraft and review agreements and maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNFโs finance/contracts team as needed. (As applicable to the role)
โAttend training sessions provided by UNFโs contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNFโs current policies and procedures. (As applicable to the role)
โMaintain a strong knowledge of UNFโs Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information and prepare reports. (As applicable to the role)
โOther duties as assigned.
โโ Selection Criteria
โโCandidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
โAbility to work under pressure and handle stress.
โAbility to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
โMust have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
โMust be available to work a maximum of 29 hours per week.
โMust be authorized to work in the United States.
