Org. Setting and Reporting
The internship is located in the POBIH, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Intern will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the UNODC Programme Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the overall guidance and supervision of the Coordinator of the UNODC Regional Programme for South Eastern Europe based in the UNODC Headquarters in Vienna.
This internship position is for a period of six months, starting in June 2021, UNPAID and full-time - 5 days per week (40 hours).

The intern shall undertake the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:
•Support the Head of the UNODC Programme Office in Sarajevo and the Coordinator of the UNODC Regional Programme for South Eastern Europe in the implementation of the UNODC mandates in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region of South Eastern Europe, in particular in the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development;
•Support the participation of UNODC into the work of the UN Country Team in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the various written and other products and inputs into products of the UN Country Team (i.e. reports, briefings, plans, etc.);
•Assist in actions and tasks aimed at the visibility of and reporting on the UNODC work in the region of South Eastern Europe;
•Underake research and data collection, provide inputs into and prepare various written outputs, including but not limited to reports, briefing notes, background materials, project documentation (including project documents, project revisions, workplans, logical frameworks, budgets, etc) and others;
•Participate in the work of the UNODC Programme Office in Sarajevo and regional activities of UNODC to take place in Bosnia and Herzegovina and assist with the preparation of such activities;
•Perform other functions as required, in particular in the context of the implementation and future development of the RP SEE and its sub-programmes.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). •Be computer literate in standard software applications;
•Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
•Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. Fluency in English, i.e. oral and written proficiency is required. Working knowledge of Bosnian is desired.
