Position Overview
โโThe Better World Campaign (BWC) works to foster a strong, effective relationship between the United States and the United Nations to promote core American interests and build a more secure, prosperous, and healthy world. BWC engages policymakers, the media, and the American public alike to increase awareness of the critical role played by the UN in world affairs and the importance of constructive U.S.-UN relations. The BWC Legislative Intern will report to the Deputy Director and work with other team members to support BWCโs legislative and Congressional relations work.โ
Essential Functions
โโSupport BWC by researching the work of the UN and how its activities affect American interests.
โAssist in drafting content for the BWC website and factsheets for Capitol Hill, NGOs, and BWC supporters.
โAssist the BWC team in preparing for and executing events and other public-facing activities.
โParticipate in meetings, take notes, and draft summary memos.
โAssist BWCโs communications team with projects as assigned.
โOther activities as assigned by the team.โ
Selection Criteria
โโCandidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.
โAbility to take initiative and be a self-starter โ while also contributing to a strong team environment.
โAbility to work under pressure and handle stress.
โAbility to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
โMust have a personal laptop computer and access to the Internet.
โMust be available to work a maximum of 22 hours per week.
โMust be authorized to work in the United States.
