The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity.ย Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
CSIS is seeking paid research interns who are highly motivated, professional, and have a keen interest in the U.S.-Australian alliance, Australian foreign policy, Pacific Islandโs affairs, and international security. Australia Chair works to broaden the reach and impact of the U.S.-Australia alliance. We operate a fast-paced, dynamic program, and require interns who are detail-oriented and can work independently and as part of a team. The Program is aiming for a May 2024 start date.
The hired candidate will be paid hourly, commensurate with experience ($17.00/hour for current undergraduate hires, $18.00/hour for hires with a bachelorโs degree, and $19.00/hour for hires with a masterโs degree).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
Assist with ad hoc and long-term research projects and organize relevant information for the programโs various ongoing projects. Draft memos, event summaries, and other materials for program staff Track events related to Australiaโs current political climate and foreign policy. Contribute to the programโs social media presence. Provide support coordinating meetings, workshops, panels, and other events. Have a positive attitude, outstanding communication/interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a team under tight deadlines.KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:ย
