Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, in coordination with other unit leads, and under the overall supervision of Chief of Mission, the Intern will assist inย supporting Missionโs activities in all portfolios, including but not limited to counter-trafficking,ย migration, environment, and climate change, and assisted voluntary return and reintegration.ย
- Assist in implementation and monitoring of activities under various programmes to ensure timely delivery.
- Assist in the drafting of correspondence and relevant documents, including notes for file, reports, briefing notes, presentations, and other relevant materials.
- Assist in undertaking research, data collection and analysis on relevant developments and future prospects and trends, which are relevant to IOM activities in Azerbaijan.
- Assist in organizing workshops, meetings, and other events, as well as visits to communities.ย
- Support the maintenance of relevant SharePoint folders.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support, including through processing necessary documents (e.g., purchase requests, payment requests, etc).
- Assist in communication with beneficiaries and community members.ย
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
TRAINING COMPONENTS AND LEARNING ELEMENTS
The Intern will gain experience in working in an international organization, within the United Nations system.
- Gain experience in administrative, media and communications activities.
- Gain a better understanding of IOMโs work, as an inter-governmental organization in the field of migration, and its work under various programmes.
- Strengthen writing, editing, presentation and other technical skills.
- The Intern will understand IOM administrative systems and processes.

EDUCATION
- Be enrolled in the final academic year of a university degree programme (minimum Bachelorโs level or equivalent); orย
- Be enrolled in a graduate degree programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or
- Have graduated with a university or graduate degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within one-year of graduation.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience of working with / volunteering for international organizations, non-governmental organizations or governmental institutions in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
Previous working experience in project management and administration work is an advantage.
SKILLS
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge in the area of international relations, social affairs, and migration.
- Familiarity with the UN system.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills.ย
- Computer literacy and good knowledge of MS Office & other relevant software.
- Discreet, detail and client-oriented, patient and a willingness to learn new things.
- Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently to meet deadlines.

For this position, fluency in English and Azerbaijani is required (oral and written).
