About this position
The Integration and Trade Sector (INT) of the Vice Presidency for Sectors and Knowledge seeks an outstanding and experienced trade economist to lead the preparation of a flagship report on how the complex relationship between international trade and climate change plays out for Latin America and the Caribbean amid: (i) a fast-moving climate crisis; and (ii) a slow recovery from a historic sanitary crisis, with trade offering one of the few tested paths for sustainable growth.
The consultant will work as part of INTโs team and report to its manager. INT assists member countries in designing and implementing trade, investment, and integration policies that facilitate economic growth, development, and poverty reduction.
What youโll do:
- Edit and co-write the chapters of trade and climate change report.
- Organize a workshop for the launch of the report.
- Participate in the reportโs diffusion, contributing, inter alia, to related blogs.
What you'll need
- Education: Master in economics with a focus on trade and integration.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.

Requirements:
- Citizenship: You are a citizen of one of our 48-member countries.
- Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract and duration:
- Type of contract: International Consultant Full-Time.
- Length of contract: 12 months.
- Work Location: On site.
