  • Implement simple and effective representation of data collected through systems to ensure the update, the consolidation and analysis at the central level by:
    • Creating a variety of info-graphics to explain existing and new information management tools and processes which mainly includes Dashboards and Snapshots as decided by the CIMO
    • Assist in creating infographic products to complement presentations by the department 
    • Assist in establishing procedures around developing and maintaining a community of practice around infographic tools and systems. This will be mainly coordinated by the CIMO through the Resilience Secretariat and HCT.
    • Participate in information management discussions and the design of sustainable visualization solutions including templates and icons; and perform other tasks as requested by the respective supervisor, as appropriate.
  • Manage key Infographic data in the online databases DMIS (Malawi) and https://data.hdx.rwlabs.org including user friendly design of http://www.masdap.mw/ as needed.
  • Manages structured archive of infographics, both digital and manual, collected from partners, documents and analysis products generated by DoDMA.
  • Reinforce the capacity of staff in Districts by performing field information management missions linked to the DoDMA Information Management Strategy.
  • Perform any other duties related to the information management assigned by management from time to time

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery issues and solutions and the ability to apply to strategic and/or practical situations
  • Malawi School Certificate of Education with relevant Diploma in Arts, Graphic Design, Statistics, Disaster Management, Emergency Management, Geographic Information Systems, Information Management, Information Systems, Professional Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in the fields of activity concerned (collection and data processing for graphic design and creation of Infographics.) 
  • Thorough knowledge in the use of computers and software (MS Word, Excel, etc.), current use of spreadsheets, Infographic software’s (Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative software (Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop); and experience in the use of applications or electronic management system.
  • Knowledge in the field of database management and geographic information systems (such as Arc GIS) is an asset.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is essential;
  • Knowledge of local language is desirable
