The Graphic Designer is responsible for providing visualized products of Information Management such as graphs, maps, and motion graphics to allow a clearer understanding of data to a larger number of people. He/she will provide information management support to RC Office in Malawi and the Department of Disaster Management Affairs (DoDMA,) the clusters, and NGOs with regard to data analysis and visualization. He/she will be hosted at DoDMA office in Lilongwe; iMMAP will be responsible for the management of the candidate.

The following deliveries are expected from the position:

  • Conceptualize and generate innovative infographic products based on iMMAP global branding guidelines and adhere to other partners branding guidelines.
  • Analyze and format data to produce inforgraphic products.
  • Work with NGOs in designing reports, providing maps and graphs and dashboards
  • Design visualized presentations for trainings and events.
  • Translate if necessary technical information in inforgraphics that will target various audiences and meet the levels of technical understanding.
  • Design, develop, and update products such as Infographics, reports, newsletters, animations, banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, bulletins, flyers, reports and cards.
  • Provide inputs for innovative ways of displaying survey results on the web and hardcopy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Senior IMO.



  • University degree (Bachelorโ€™s degree or higher) in Information Science, Geographical Information Systems, Computer Science or other relevant field.
  • A High School diploma combined with an extensive relevant professional experience may be accepted in lieu of a university degree.


  • Minimum three (3) years of work experience in the field of Information Management is essential;
  • Adobe Creative Suite skills (InDesign, Illustrator);
  • Experience in data processing and analysis, creation of reports;
  • Knowledge in the use of software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS;
  • Excellent command of Office suite applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint);
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.


  • Relevant experience in working with a UN agency or another humanitarian agency is desirable;
  • Experience in the area of emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, humanitarian/development environment, field coordination is an asset;
  • Excellent inter-personal and general communication skills;
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement.
