Overview of the role:

The Information Management Officer will have the key responsibility for MAGโ€™s operational information management system in Nigeria. The IMO is to ensure that data is collected, submitted, and checked for accuracy to ensure that MAG can meet both internal and external reporting requirements to the highest possible standard. In addition, the IMO should take a proactive role in analyzing and interpreting operational data.


Information Management โ€“ Operations

ยท Be the focal point for MAG Nigeria operational information.

ยท Responsible for the maintenance of the operations database through overseeing data inputting, reports, and maps

ยท Ensure that any errors in data entry are minimized and missing data is pursued

ยท Ensure the coherent and accurate management of electronic and hard copy filing using MAG HQ server and program filing systems.

ยท Prepare completion reports.

ยท Enter data from CL teams ad prepare CL pre-survey report

ยท Provide performance statistics on operations for senior managers.

ยท Provide ad hoc data analysis and reports as directed by the Program Officer.

ยท Provide training on information management and GIS to community liaison staff.

ยท Responsible for the management and oversight of the archiving all MAG operational records/documentation

Hardware and Software

ยท Configure new and in use laptops correctly in line with MAG software and licenses policy (windows, Office, anti-virus, emails, system updates, system-accessโ€ฆ)

ยท ICT Asset database (hardware, software, licensing)

ยท Assist staff with ad-hoc IT support needs.

ยท Assist logistics in liaison with internet provider and maintenance of internet system.

ยท Assist with set up and basic support for IT accessories such as printers, scanners, external hard drives, and projectors.

ยท ICT Equipment diagnose and repair, if necessary.

ยท Become fully conversant in the use of ESRI โ€˜Collectorโ€™ and โ€˜Survey123โ€™ Field applications

ยท Ensure that field teams are suitably trained and competent in the use of MAGโ€™s mobile data collection tools (Survey123 and Collector)

ยท Ensure that mobile devices are managed correctly and updated with the latest software versions.


ยท Assist in developing internal capacity where required, identifying training needs, and providing mentoring support where appropriate.

ยท Regular travel between MAGs field locations will be required.

ยท Must comply with the MAG Safeguarding and Code of Conduct policies

Essential requirements: **

ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in studies related to Information management or relevant qualification

ยท Excellent understanding of information gathering and analysis issues

ยท Proven ability to problem solve in the area of data provision and analysis

ยท Knowledge of CL principles and how information is gathered and used

ยท Ability to write reports

ยท Excellent computer skills

ยท English language skills

ยท Good knowledge of GIS and IT and mapping programs

ยท Demonstrating high attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and integrity
