About this position
We are looking for a great teammate, innovative and dedicated Investment Management Officer. As Investment Management Officer, you will support in the origination, structuring, negotiation, approval and closing of projects in the Manufacturing sector in the Andean region.
You will work in the Manufacturing Unit (MAN), part of Investment Operations Department (INO). INO is responsible for clients and partnersโ engagement for the origination, structuring, closing and supervision of transactions and projects that meet our requirements. INO follows a matrix model with three Segment Divisions covering Infrastructure and Energy (Transport, Energy, Water and Sanitation and Social Infrastructure), Financial Institutions (Banks, Funds, and other Financial Institutions), and Corporates (Agribusiness, Tourism, Manufacturing and Digital Economy), as well as transversal areas such as Financial Products and Services, and Portfolio Management. INO also houses two Teams (Marketing and Business Communications and Business Strategy, Planning and Resources), and is responsible for advisory engagements with clients, in close coordination with IDB Investยดs Strategy and Development Department (DSP).
This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing and will coordinate with other organizational units of IDB Invest, IDB and IDB Lab, as needed. You will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and leading client engagements in the MAN segment as well as supporting the MAN team in evaluating, structuring, negotiating, and closing new transactions.
What youโll do:
Lead the delivery of MAN segment projects in the Andean Region, from the prospecting stage through origination, structuring, negotiation, approval and closing. Lead the approval and closing of sophisticated transactions involving the use of loans, credit guarantees, equity and quasi equity instruments, including IDB Invest value proposition. Coordinate with the environmental, social and governance safeguards, finance, development efficiency, legal, and risk functions as it relates to project structuring and closing of deals. Analyze and process investment projects. Provide technical advice and supports the development of IDBG Country Strategies and IDB Investโs multi-year Business Plans in relation to the MAN sector and help identify and overcome specific institutional and regulatory bottlenecks. Stay ahead of industry dynamics, innovations being introduced in the market by competitors and of developments impacting the manufacturing segment. Share market intelligence across the sector and the IDBG as relevant. Supervise preparation of lessons learned related to MAN projects within and outside the IDBG. Disseminate information to project teams on transaction strengths, weaknesses, risks and risk mitigation options. Play a meaningful role in the MAN and private sector development communities by collaborating closely with industry experts, potential clients, potential partners, and stakeholders. Seek to build new relationships to generate new business opportunities.What you'll need
Education: At least a Masterโs degree, MBA, or equivalent in Finance, Business Administration, International Development or another relevant field. Experience: At least seven (7) years of relevant experience in loan origination, structuring or portfolio management with a confirmed track-record working with both equity and debt. Experience leading manufacturing projects in Latin America and the Caribbean (โLACโ). Experience in originating and structuring transaction in the mining sector would be a plus. Understand client needs and challenges of different country/regional areas, market idiosyncrasies, and drivers of change in LAC. Confirmed solid experience in a similar role in an investment firm, commercial or developmental bank or reputable financial institution is desirable. Very strong financial modeling/valuation and analytical skills will be considered a plus. Language Skills: Oral and written proficiency in English and Spanish. Portuguese knowledge is considered a plus.Key skills

Citizenship: either a citizen of Peru or with residency or legal permit to work in Peru. Consanguinity: have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.Type of contract and duration
National staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
