The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic learners who are looking to gain professional experience in the field of Human Resources (HR). As a HR intern at IWMI, you will gain a broad understanding of the HR procedures and processes in an international organization. During your internship, you will be able to interact with staff at IWMI\u2019s headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and its regional offices across Asia, Africa and Europe. This will also give you an insight into working with people from different countries and cultures.

During this internship, the intern will gain experience in the following:

  • Coordinating IWMI\u2019s internship program, which includes internship life cycle management from hiring to exiting.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date files.
  • Preparing HR-related reports.
  • Performing audits of internship and training files and records to ensure that all the required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Planning and executing special events, such as organization-wide HR meetings, employee recognition events and other HR-related events.
  • Providing support to additional HR functions as needed.

    Requirements: Qualifications, exposure and skills:

  • Undergraduates or graduates with a Bachelor of Commerce / Business Administration / Human Resources degrees and part or full qualification in human resource management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) or a recognized institution.
Excellent command of the English language (written and oral). Ability to comprehend complex written material. Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Detail orientation. Strong self-motivation while being a team player. Integrity is of utmost importance.

The duration of the initial internship contract will be for 6 months with the possibility of extending it for another 6 months based on performance, requirements of the IWMI, and availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited internship and only Sri Lankans are eligible to apply.
