Generic responsibilities

  1. Comply with NRCโ€™s HR policies andย procedures
  2. Assist with the implementation and roll out of HR policies, procedures and NRC standards across NRC Iraqย 
  3. Ensure proper filing of documents electronically in NRCโ€™s filing treeย 
  4. Promote and share ideas for improvement of the HRย functions
  5. Promote the rights of internally displaced/returnees In line with the advocacy strategy
  6. Actively promote PSEA (Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards & principles within NRC and amongst beneficiaries served byย NRC.

    Specific responsibilities

    • Responsible for maintaining accurate data in NRC People and spot-checking Area Offices People data and feeding back gaps
    • Responsible for proper documentation and filing (electronically) on NRC filing tree and spot-checking Area Offices and feeding back gaps ย 
    • Responsible for ensuring the filing tree is up to date for all of NRC Iraqโ€™s operations, all files are saved correctly and in the right foldersย (i.e., all staff personnel files, timesheets, attendance sheets, overtime, leave requestsย etc) and that confidentiality is kept by checking access to HR folders
    • Performs monthly audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately and gives feedback to all four Area Offices/CO
    • Responsible for receiving timesheets from Finance and sharing with Area Offices/CO, checking all timesheets are signed and saved in the relevant foldersย 
    • Responsible for updating the organogram
    • Responsible for processing HR payments in a timely manner (i.e., health insurance payment)
    • Assist HR Coordinator in organising HR seminars, meetings, and other events
    • Assisting the HR Coordinator in implementing HR initiatives and projects for the whole of NRC Iraq
    • Supporting gaps in Area Offices when required (four Area Offices)ย 
    • Any other tasks as requested by the line managerย 
    • Follow up on the Office and Guest house needs.

    • Experience in HR Administrationย 
  7. Previous experience from working in complex and volatileย contexts
Fluent in English and Arabic isrequired.

Context/ Specific skills, knowledge, and experience:

Minimum of one year experience working as a HR Assistant in a humanitarian/recoveryย contextPrevious experience using an online HR databaseย Competent in use of MS Officeapplications including Outlook, Work and ExcelKnowledge of data protection policies and willing to promote a data protection culture in NRCย Excellent attention to detailsPro-active and able to follow up on missing data and issues without promptingย
