Green Technology Innovation Director, Kyrgyzstan

ACDI/VOCA is seeking a Green Technology Innovation Director for an upcoming Green Economy Activity in Kyrgyzstan funded by USAID. The anticipated program will address climate related issues in the economy of Kyrgyzstan. The Activity will include work on a policy framework for sustainable and green solutions in the economy and the promotion of practices that contribute to a green economy within the private and public sectors.

The Green Technology Innovation Director will implement green technologies and practices across the projectโ€™s activities. The program is anticipated to start in 2024 and this position will be based in Kyrgyzstan.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integrating green technologies and sustainable practices across project activities
  • Lead the project's efforts in identifying, evaluating, and promoting innovative green solutions that address climate-related challenges.
  • Collaborate with governmental agencies to create and implement a robust policy framework that encourages the adoption of green technologies and sustainable practices.
  • Forge strategic partnerships with local and international organizations, and the private sector to leverage resources in promoting green technologies
  • Oversee the planning and implementation of green technology activities, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve desired outcomes
  • Facilitate capacity building programs for stakeholders across public and private sectors to enhance understanding and adoption of green technologies
  • Prepare reports to stakeholders and donors on project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Engineering, Public Policy, or relevant field is required; masterโ€™s degree is desired.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in green technologies, sustainable development, or environmental policy.
  • Knowledge of and experience with USAID rules and regulations.
  • Proven track record implementing large-scale projects in the field of sustainable development.
  • Experience collaborating with government agencies, stakeholders, and the private sector.
  • Experience working in Kyrgyzstan preferred.
  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Russian and/or a local language is required.
