Expected duration5 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe United Nations in Tajikistan supports the Republic of Tajikistan to achieve its national priorities reflected in the National Development Strategy 2016-2030 aligned with SDGs. In 2023, the UN and the Government of Tajikistan launched a Joint Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2023-2026 (UNSDCF) to help the country in addressing its development needs. The UN Resident Coordinator (UNRC) leads the UN Country Team (UNCT) and ensures the UNโs coherent and coordinated support through the implementation of the UNSDCF 2023-2026. The UN Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO) in Tajikistan supports the work of the UNRC to coordinate activities of the UNCT in its engagement with the Government, development partners and other stakeholders. The UNRC leads and strategically positions the UNCT in Tajikistan to respond to the current national priorities through the Cooperation Framework and across the humanitarian, development and peace nexus. The UNRCO includes capacities for strategic planning, economic analysis, partnerships and development finance, data management and results reporting, as well as communications and advocacy. The UN Resident Coordinatorโs Office (UNRCO) in Tajikistan seeks to engage a graphic designer consultant to design the key UNRCO documents and materials, including, but not limited to UNRCO and UNCT brochure, various 2025 campaign materials (International Year of Glaciers Preservation, UN80 and other), UN Annual Results Report 2024 and its infographics and four-pager briefs. The selected designer will be responsible for preparation of high-quality graphic design of the above-mentioned materials for internal and external communications channels (UNCT website, social media networks, publications,and other). The Consultant will work 35 days under the direct supervision of the UNRCO Programme Communications and Advocacy Analyst, and overall guidance of the Head of UNRCO. Duties and responsibilities: Design the UN RCO and UNCT brochure, 2025 UN key campaign materials (International Year of Glaciers Preservation โ 10 materials/pages, UNโs 80th anniversary โ 10 materials, International Womenโs Day, Ambassador for a Day โ 5 materials, Model UN โ 2 materials); โข Produce the design of the UN Annual Results Report (ARR) in three languages (up to 40 pages including photos and graphs); โข Produce brief two-pager infographics of the report in three languages; โข Produce social media cards for UN ARR (up to 15 cards). Qualifications/special skillsBachelorโs Degree in Design/Digital/Visual arts or related field is required. At least 5 years proven experience in visual design, preferably with development agencies/UN is required. Proven experience in designing attractive infographics using various data is required. Proven work experience with international organizations is required. Access to relevant equipment, software, and speedy Internet connection is required. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or other graphic design software is required. Skills in producing gif format interactive materials is desired.
