Position Graphic Designer Professional Grade

Reports to: Head of Communication and Influencing
Purpose: How does this post support Planโs strategy and mission? With the acceleration of the business transformation programme within the organization, requests in comms support are gradually increasing with numerous tasks to embark on:
โข Designing of various communication products (Newsletters, Publications, Snapshot, etc).
โข Infographics
โข Production of video documentaries
โข Engagement sessions management, etc.
Thus the need to get the support of a professional Graphic Design and photographer that will support the department in producing high quality material, graphics, photos and videos in various communication tasks to inform all our clients through diverse channels, while gaining NGOs experience.
Dimensions of Role:
โข Provide support in the production and the development of communication kits and visuals in line with the Communication & Influencing strategy
โข Facilitate the creation of an effective humanitarian photo database for Cameroon including projects implemented in our sub-offices
โข Produce one/two documentary(ies) for the work and realisations of the organization in Cameroon
Period
โข 12 months: June 23 โ June 24.
Core Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Head of Communication and Influencing, the Graphic Designer will provide support to the Country Office and an assistance to our sub-offices:
โข Develop and design core graphics and communication materials to promote the impact and benefits of our Programme & Influencing activities
โข Provide technical expertise in graphic designing requests
โข Produce and/or edit photo and videos
โข Assist in the recording of meetings and produce short videos for various activities when applicable
โข Create/Update a Transformation/Change image bank and provide them for use when needed
โข Produce material for internal social media and blog posts (infographics, designed pictures, etc)
โข Edit PowerPoint presentations for strategic meetings/events
โข Provide technical/logistical assistance during meetings and events
โข Carryout other creative tasks in the graphic design of visual communication in accordance with the global brand requirements of Plan International
โข Provide support in communication where possible and applicable
โข Carry out any other task assigned by supervisor as need arises
Technical expertise, skills and knowledge
Essential
Qualifications and Knowledge
โข University degree or National Diploma in Audio-Visual Productions, or related fields (including experiences acquired through academic / professional internships).
โข Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and other design and video editing software.
โข Familiarity with humanitarian and development issues;
Skills
โข Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate complicated and technical issues in a concise and clear visual way;
โข Ability to work independently and complete tasks within time frame
โข Should be a good team player
โข Organized, versatile, autonomous and rigorous
โข Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, including ability to find, absorb, analyse and prioritise information from many different sources;
โข Ability to summarize information into few digestible lines for any audience;
โข Good knowledge of internal and external communication;
โข Ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines, with competing priorities and minimal supervision;
โข Flexibility and adaptability;
โข Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work in multi-national, multi-cultural teams;
โข Fluency in English and French will be of added value.
