NRC is currently looking for a dynamic, motivated and highly experienced humanitarian leader for the position of Global Roving CD. The role is exciting and challenging. It requires flexibility, diplomacy and an ability to adapt to diverse contexts and situations with agility and positivity. NRC is currently present in over 40 countries, and the roving CD role can be called upon to cover an interim in any one of those country offices. When starting up operations, the role manages a small team to set up a new country office, more often than not as a result of a new conflict/displacement crisis and leads NRCโs response to the needs of the affected populations.ย
The roleโs main purpose is to:ย
Lead NRC operations in a start-up country. Function as interim Country Director in an existing NRC country programme.ยWhat you will do:
National representation and coordination Development and execution of country strategyย All in-country activities, personnel and the Country Management Group (CMG) Safety and security of all staff Country level advocacyย Resource allocation and mobilizationย Cost efficiency and quality, including implementation of control mechanisms Adequate country structures and systemsย Learning, training and development of all staff, including a strategy for national staff developmentย Please download the detailed job descriptionย to learn more about the position.
ย What you will bring:
Minimum 7 yearsโ experience from working as a Senior Manager/Country Director in humanitarian/recovery context Experience from working in diverse complex and volatile contexts (refugees and IDP settings) Ability to quickly assess new context(s) Be an active listener; open-minded; excel in analysing information and giving feedback and have a positive attitude towards people.ย Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile with documented results related to the positionโs responsibilities Language: Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
