The Executive Office ensures the smooth and effective leadership of WRI. It is formed of the President and CEO, five Managing Directors, the Chief of Institutional Alignment, the General Counsel, and the key staff who work with them to ensure the smooth and effective leadership of WRI. You will be part of a fast-evolving interdependent leadership team collectively leading a large global organization through turbulent and exciting times that requires full attention, flexibility, an openness to change and a positive and embracing approach.
Job Highlight:
In this role, you will support the Managing Director (MD) for Global Delivery and report to the Head of Executive Governance. You will drive WRIโs strategy, impact and values. You will track, analyze and provide guidance to the MD on a full range of strategic, programmatic and operational issues. You will help design and run day-to-day decision-making and flow of information on behalf of the MD for Global Delivery in and across their Directorates through facilitating meetings, ensuring briefings are fit for purpose, allocating and tracking actions and coordinating with peers. You will help supervise one staff member who will execute the logistics related to scheduling meetings, managing invites, booking travel, and completing paperwork in support of the MD. You will conduct and support special research and organizational projects as requested by the MD, occasionally with the support of an intern. You will apply a broad awareness of issues related to the entire organization judge effectively when to consult with others. You will act as Secretary to WRIโs Operations Committee, planning and managing its work program, agendas, tasking and follow up. You will work closely with WRIโs internal comms team to help establish a rhythm of effective staff engagement.
What will you do:
Support to the Managing Director (MD) for Global Delivery (40%):
Project & Knowledge Management (40%):
Support the MD for Global Deliveryโs plan, coordinate, and facilitate leadership and directorship-wide meetings, working group meetings, and other recurring meetings hosted or attended by the MD.Manage special projects as assigned. This will include the development of work plans and timelines with key milestones, tracking strategic metrics under WRIโs 2023-2027 strategic plan, and conducting after-action reviews Proactively communicate between teams to ensure the right people know the right information at the right time, including internal communications and engagement with WRI staff. Provide analysis and advice to the Managing Directors and other leaders in the Executive Office and develop and maintain a broad knowledge of issues related to the entire the MDโs portfolio.
Support the Managing Directorโs (MD) Strategic Ambition (20%):
Provide analysis and advice to the MD and other leaders and develop and maintain a broad knowledge of issues related to the MDโs portfolio of work. Conduct research pieces and landscape assessments around Asia policy, Climate Finance, and Equity. Contribute to external strategic communications products and help draft internal communications to key internal stakeholders on behalf of the MD.What will you need:
Education: You have completed a Bachelorโs degree in economics, political science, environmental sciences, public administration, natural resource management, rural development, or similar field Experience: You have minimum of 7 years of work experience in project management, preferably in a non-profit international development setting. A Masterโs degree in lieu of 2 years of work experience is acceptable Experience working with senior executives and can demonstrate the ability to synthesize complex topics into actionable and decision ready analysis fit for that audience and then cascade decisions for action You will have a record of accomplishment of organization and time management skills, with experience managing several projects at different stages simultaneously Experience developing work plans including breaking down complex projects into tasks, processes and timelines Experience developing meeting agendas, tracking and developing materials, chairing meetings and organizing events Experience in one of the following areas of expertise: strategy development; planning, monitoring, evaluation and learning; non-profit operations and finances, including resource allocation Ability to understand, analyze and synthesize a high influx of information You will have a demonstrated track record of working both independently and in teams Experience applying analytical thinking and problem solving skills and experience in Climate Finance/Economics, international development sector, or Asia policy (specifically China, India, and Indonesia) is a plus. Potential Salary: US salary range is between 69,000 and 73,000 USD. UK: 38 - 45k GBP. Netherlands: 67K โ 84K Euros. Salary is commensurate with experience and other compensable factors.
