About the Program:WRI Europe collaborates with the European Union institutions, the European Investment Bank, and a wide range of stakeholders to support Europeโ€™s global leadership on climate, development, and environmental issues.   • Monitor and provide insights on relevant EU policy developments to inform WRIโ€™s engagement
  • Analyze the policy priorities of European Union institutions, and identifying possible overlaps with WRIโ€™s program of work
  • Draft briefings for our Global Programs and International Offices on EU political, economic, and development-related updates and opportunities.
  • Strengthen internal coordination and knowledge-sharing on EU engagement, including through updates to WRIโ€™s intranet and internal communication channels
  • Assist in developing social media content related to EU policies
  • Support the management WRIโ€™s partnership related to the EU, such as the Systems Transformation Hub
  • Maintain and update partner contact information to strengthen strategic collaboration
  • Other assignments as needed in raising WRI's profile with EU institutions and agenciesSupport (20%):
    • Assist with meetings management, including drafting briefings, and other external communication tasks
    • Assist with logistical preparations for (online) conferences, workshops and visits of high level WRI staff to the WRI Europe office, including organizing meetings and travel
    • Other administrative tasks as required. What you will need:
      • Currently pursuing a degree in international relations, environment studies, development studies, political science or related field (graduate program preferred)
      • Good understanding of working of EU institutions
      • Interns at WRI Europe must be registered in a study program with a Dutch college or university for the full duration of the internship. Conditions of the internship:
        • This is a 6 month internship with a start date of 22 September 2025.
        • This internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in the Hague with some flexibility to work from home.
