How can you make a difference?

The Business Innovation and Support Section (BIS) of UNICEF GSSC is seeking to build a pipeline of qualified IT Assistants on temporary appointments at the GS-5 level. This is a great opportunity for career development in a fast-paced, multicultural context and for taking the first step towards an international career as part of the UN family.

IT Assistants restore normal service to users as quickly as possible, fix technical faults, fulfill service requests, answer queries and provide other IT support as needed. The IT Assistant serves as the single point of contact (SPoC) between Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and users/Customers in all UNICEF locations for all matters related to IT and business.

These positions require the successful candidate to work in 24x7 shifts.

The vacancy is created to fill any temporary and regular IT Assistant GS-5 level positions in BIS.

Completion of secondary education (i.e., high school diploma) is a minimum requirement with 5 years of relevant work experience in Information Technology (IT). ย Computer-related certification is an asset. ITIL certification and utilization is considered an advantage. A completed Bachelor degree from an accredited institution in computer science, information systems, engineering, telecommunications, will be counted towards three (3) years of the minimum work experienceย requirements, while a Master`s degree will be counted towards additional 2 years of professional experience. Proven ability to deal with confidential and sensitive communication and information and logical thinking are required. Advanced knowledge in Office 365 Products (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required. Experience in dealing with Customer Support and Services is desirable. Experience with a development organization is an asset. Fluency in English (verbal and spoken) is required. Knowledge of an additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish), or local language of the duty station, is considered an asset
