FHI 360 is currently recruiting for the position of Gender and Gender-based Violence (GBV) Technical Advisor for an anticipated five-year USAID project, \"Building the Enabling Environment for Resilient Communities and Sustainable Livelihoods in the Mbomou-Uele Region,\" with a budget of between $10-$24.99 million. The anticipated objective of this activity is to: (1) increase resilience of the local communities in MbomouUele region, (2) improve living conditions among the transhumant and sedentary population and

(3) secure conservation and management of ecosystems.

Job Summary:

In the Mbomou-Ueฬleฬ region, the most prevalent forms of GBV experienced are physical, psychological, and sexual violence โ€“ including conflict related sexual violence, early and forced marriage, bride price, and female genital mutilation/cutting. The Gender/GBV Technical Advisor will be responsible for implementing and integrating a multi-faceted approach to address gender-based violence (GBV), which is believed to have the greatest impact. S/he will work closely with the program teams in both CAR and DRC to lead GESI analyses from which to develop a project-level GESI plan; develop materials and lead trainings to raise awareness about GBV, as well as GBV prevention and services.

The Gender/GBV Technical Advisor may be based in Kinshasa, DRC, and report to the Chief of Party or may be based in Bangui, CAR, and report to the DCOP. Up to 30% travel to field sites in both DRC and CAR is anticipated.
