As part of its commitment to realizing CARE's 2030 Vision, the Food and Water Systems team (within the Program Strategy and Impact team) in CARE USA, prioritized scaling up its impact through focusing on farmer's field and business school approach, and on partnership development โ€“ and particularly to expanding its work with partners in developing countries. FWS team leads CARE's work globally in ensuring the fulfilment of the right to adequate and nutritious food and clean water for all by promoting sustainable, productive, equitable and resilient (SuPER) food and water systems, while ensuring equitable, livable incomes and dignified livelihoods.

The Gender,Youth and Livelihoods (GYL) team leads FWS support efforts on gender gender and livelihoods programs in multiple countries and coordinate the provision of gender technical support to both CARE programs and partner organizations including the UN.

This TDY-Technical Advisor for Gender and Livelihoods, hosted in the GYLโ€“ (FWS) Team, will ensure the provision of technical support, guidance, and mentorship on gender transformative programming to different program teams in multiple countries, including such programs as SPIRII, RIPA, HATUTAN and others.

~Contribute to the execution of the research, learning and advocacy themes prioritized by the FWS Unit through the projects and programs s/he/them supports as well as from his/her/them own experience and knowledge and learning from other parts of the organizations and in the sector in general.

~ Support resource mobilization efforts to advance the programs objectives and CARE's work in Food Other responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities:

Provide technical support to programs on gender and livelihoods Provision of overall technical support and guidance on gender transformative programming to programs including SPIR II and RiPA in Ethiopia, Hatutan ll in Timor-Leste, and SFtW projects in Egypt, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Pakistan, Colombia, and Turkey. Support the development of tools, systems, processes and approaches that continuously improve technical excellence and better coordination at the project, program and global levels in Gender transformative approaches. Ensure gender integration across the program management cycle of aforementioned projects to ensure gender transformative results including through the use of the CARE gender marker. Support resource mobilization efforts for the GYL/FWS and other PSI teams Support resource mobilization efforts to advance the programs objectives and CARE's work in Food and water systems and other teams we coordinate and collaborate with Support program design efforts to ensure that gender,youth and livelihoods are integrated
Review and contribute to the design to new GYL/FWS proposals. Support the engagement with COs on developing new opportunities for levering the available funding with additional potential funding sources. Knowledge management and learning
Support for making available training tools, guidance documents, and best practices. S/he will support and assist in development of relevant additional modules for FFBS and its adaptations. Contribute to the execution of the research, learning and advocacy themes prioritized by the FWS Unit through the projects and programs s/he/them supports as well as from his/her/them own experience and knowledge and learning from other parts of the organizations and in the sector in general. Design of new proposals Support program design efforts to ensure that FFBS integrated components are fully addressed throughout the development of new programs' Theory of Change. this can be through using a wide range of available tools and resources across the thematic areas. The TA will also: Review and contribute to the design to new CARE FFBS and fill nutrition gap proposals in order to ensure model fidelity Support the engagement with COs on developing new opportunities for levering the available funding with additional potential funding sources. Collaborate/coordinate primarily with FWS Team, other donor mobilization efforts and the IFS to support resource mobilization efforts to advance FFBS work within MENA region.

Qualifications:

Masterโ€™s degree in international development - in the field of women's/gender studies, Economics, Agribusiness Development, Anthropology, Sociology, or a related 5-7 years of experience in international gender programming, or related field. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and effectively communicate new or sensitive topics. Overseas work experience Demonstrated ability to design and adapt program approaches that promote gender transformative programming and support women's empowerment in diverse cultural contexts. Experience in inspiring and supporting colleagues to integrate gender into their work. Background in facilitation and training skills Gender analysis and application in program implementation (including advocacy) Constructive engagement of men and boys, or synchronized gender strategies Facilitating and supporting gender integration within agriculture, economic development, and food security programming Training design and implementation experience for adult learners Excellent verbal and written English skills, particularly communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences including conducting training events for adults and professional. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet software, and data processing
