Finance Assistant - Pattani

TEAM/PROGRAMME: Thailand Programme

LOCATION: Pattani Field Office

CONTRACT TYPE: 1-year contract


The Finance Assistant is responsible for the day-to-day and monthly accounting and in the administration of the Finance Function. The position will process that accounting practice is performed in compliance with SCI policies and procedures and donor regulations.


Reports to: Senior Finance Officer, Pattani Field Office


Bank and Cash Management:

ยท Update petty cash and bank payment tracking for monitor bank balance of SCI Field Office

ยท Prepare monthly bank reconciliation

ยท Filling all cash and bank document (Reconciliation, Bank Statement, Cash Count, etc.) are filed.

ยท Assist for review requisition/cash vouchers (against budget, coding, authority, policy, supporting docs, accuracy) and process payment

ยท Handle designated payments through cash payment vouchers with due approval of the authorized signatories

ยท Checking an outstanding program advance before releasing a new program advance and reconciling on a monthly basis

ยท Preparing sub-office cash request and ensure cash management for daily activities according to SCI policy

ยท Coordinated with budget holders to consolidate information on their activities plan for the month

ยท Prepare weekly cash count are conducted

ยท In charge of day to day cash/safe management

ยท Prepare document for changing bank signatories

ยท Inform staff partner and supplier when the payment is made

ยท Liaise with banks and provide support in all matters related to SCI Country Office

ยท Maintain and support for changing bank signatories and provide an induction to the new bank signatures

General Accounting:

ยท Data entry financial recording transactions into Agresso system

ยท Prepare the monthly withholding tax forms (PNG. 1, 3, 53 and 54) and submit to line manager for review process

ยท Assist for prepare documents and manage for audit in the field office as requested.

Partnership Management:

ยท Assist in conducting partnership financial assessment

ยท Review partner financial report and supporting document and provide feedback

ยท Visit the partners on monthly basis and provide financial technical supports to staff as requested


ยท Assist provide finance induction/refresh to all staffs in Filed Office

ยท Further responsibilities, tasks and competences will be adjusted on based on organizational developments

ยท Bachelor degree in accounting or related field

ยท New graduate or 1-year experience in a finance function


ยท Experiences in accounting for NGOs

ยท Good knowledge in Microsoft office, outlook, word, excel and power point

ยท Good interpersonal skills

ยท The ability to speak, read and write in Thai and English as working languages
