Tropical dryland areas are usually seen as resource-poor and perennially beset by shocks such as drought, thereby trapping dryland communities in poverty and hunger and making them dependent on external aid. Duties and Responsibilities:
Field operations:
Seed preparation for machine/manual plantingLayout preparationSowing, thinning, gap filling and general crop managementData collection and field observationsRoguingHarvestingMaintenance of consumables/stock/suppliesย
Greenhouse operations:
Making pot mixSowing, thinning and general plant managementHandling and maintenance of consumablesGeneral maintenance of greenhouseSelfing and crossingHarvestingย
Seed processing:
Primary and secondary processing of seed using machines/manually.Maintenance of seed processing machines.
Seed inventory and storage:ย
Taking seed inventory and prepare seed samples for storage in cold stores/crop stores.General maintenance of cold stores/crop stores.ย
Any other assignments from time to time as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirement:
SSC or Intermediate and Driving License for 4 WheelerShould be able to speak (Telugu, Hindi, and English) & read/write simple English.Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural research especially in plant breeding unit, seed production experience is a must.ย
General:
This is a contractual role for a period of 12 months.
