ITS Vice Presidency Context:
Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.
Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.
ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.
Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.
The ITS Enterprise Services unit, provides a wide range of technical services: data centers, system administration, database, middleware, cloud, enterprise monitoring and identity and access management.

Role
Enterprise Unix Administrator, reporting to Infrastructure Operations Lead.
Responsibilities:
Main responsibility of this position is listed below:
โขResponsible for enterprise Linux operations.
โขProvide advanced expertise to assure the effective performance of one or more elements of the enterprise Unix admin service onprem and on the cloud (AWS/Azure)
โขHandles the product lifecycle of the Unix infrastructure to assure operational availability; designs and specifies changes for implementation.
โขDevelop and maintain system documentation, including configuration guides, and standard operating procedures. Direct and be responsible for the implementation effort.
โขProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
โขMonitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize system performance.
โขCollaborate with other teams to architect and implement system upgrades, improvements, and migrations.
โขConduct security audits and implement security measures to protect the system from unauthorized access.
โขReport and respond to critical security events and take corrective measures per defined security incident management processes.
โขEnsure that the defined decommissioning and disposal procedures are followed for all hardware systems and media.

โขSuggest and promote System Changes in accordance with documented SOPs (Standard Operational Procedures)
โขContributes to delivery of results for client on complex issues.
โขLeverages available data and makes timely decisions.
โขAbility and willingness to work, learn and contribute to internationally diverse team environment.
โขAble to present and explain technical information to diverse types of audience (management, users, vendor, and technical staff)
Selection Criteria
โขMaster's degree with 5 years relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
โขExperience with Unix Administration.
โขExperience working on AWS and Azure Cloud.
โขExperience in automating administrative tasks using Chef, Terraform, RunDeck or similar tools.
