- Role and responsibilities
The Project Officer is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of Education project activities in Leer County/Unity State.ย ย
Generic responsibilitiesย
- Ensure adherence to NRC policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and donor requirements.

Specific responsibilitiesย
ย
Implement community-based initiatives that promote school enrollment, retention, and transition in consultation with the project coordinator.ย Support the distribution of teaching and learning materials and lead follow-ups on the appropriate and correct usage of project resources supplied to schools. Assist the project coordinator to develop and execute teacher support program at the school level together with Ministry of Education officials.ย Conduct training for PTAs and teachers in collaboration with other team members Guide and support teachers in delivering conflict-sensitive education.ย Lead the processes of monitoring, tracking attendance and recommend appropriate steps to take in case of gaps. In coordination with M&E Officers participate in education assessments and determine priority needs in project locations Ensureย correct data collection and tracking of all education interventions and participate in compiling emergency-related internal (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly) and external (interim and final) reports. Performance management of Education assistants and volunteers under your responsibility Other relevant tasks as assigned by the Project Coordinatorย

At least a bachelorโs degree or Higher National Diploma from a recognized academic institution in Education, Training, Project Management, or any other relevant field A minimum of 3 yearsโ experience from working as an Education Project Officer in an emergency and/or recovery context Experience in teacher training is required. Previous experience working in complex and volatile contexts. Fluency in English both written and verbal required.Context-related skills knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):ย
Familiarity with INEE technical standards Proven experience in implementing education, socio-emotional learning, or inclusive education interventions. Fluency in a native language spoken in the project location is essential. Knowledge of Juba Arabic an added advantageย Good-level competency in computer skills (common Microsoft Office and Windows applications) Good written and oral communication skillsย Strong organizational and logistical skills and ability to work with minimum supervision.ย Some experience in implementing gender transformative programs is highly desired. Motorbike driving license and experience required.
