Terms of ReferenceThe Donor Relations Intern supports the functions of the Donor Relations and Reporting Unit in the External Engagement Section. This section is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors as well as ensuring effective reporting.
The intern will support the vital role in the organisationโs efforts to secure funding, maintain donor relationships and fulfil its mission by effectively communicating its impact and needs to the donors. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in the field of donor relations and international development.
The Donor Relations Intern will work closely with the Donor Relations and Reporting Unit providing valuable support in various aspects of donor engagement and funding analysis that range from: drafting of regular reporting materials, drafting fundraising tools including the Global Appeal/Report, donor proposals, Concept Notes and reports, taking minutes of meetings, drafting talking points, planning donor meetings as well as technical support in processing and analyzing funding data.
Duties and responsibilities

โข Gather inputs and support drafting of Global Appeal/Report
โข Drafting donor proposals and reports
โข Support organizing meetings
โข Process and analyze funding data
โข Track funding, projections and proposals
โข Track unit activities
Minimum qualifications required
โข Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and
โข Have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in a field relevant or of interest to the work of UNHCR.
NOTE: An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.
Desirable qualifications and skills
โข Bachelors or a Masterโs degree in International Relations and/or
โข Bachelors or a Masterโs degree in Law and Communication
โข A Bachelors or a Masterโs degree in Community Development will be an added advantage
It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 8.00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00 am to 2:00 pm on Friday (37 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in the External Engagement Section, at the Regional Bureau for EHAGL.
nterns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help support costs related to food, local transportation and living expenses.
